Over 60 beer lovers tried the "Montana Beer Blind Tasting" at The Rhino earlier this week! ONLY ONE PERSON GUESSED ALL FOUR BEERS!
Congrats to Brian K. for knowing that the four beers were:
Big Sky Brewing Company Pygmy Owl IPA
Draught Works Brewery Clothing Optional Pale Ale
Bayern Brewing Inc. Maibock
Kettlehouse Brewing Company Joe Smoke (Coffee-infused Cold Smoke)
Lots of people got 3/4 correct...
Brian gets a cool Meriwether growler carrier and swag!
Interestingly, the most commonly guessed "incorrect" beer was Wildwood Brewing's Karapiller Red Lager. Some of you chose that in place of the maibock and some in place of the pale ale.

Imagine yourself in the midst of this! Caffe Dolce is returning with yet another epic beer dinner. This time it's all about "Sweet & Sour" - sweet dishes paired with sour beers and sour dishes paired with sweet beers. (By the way, Caffe Dolce has always sold out its events!) Here's all the details:
"Sweet & Sour" BEER DINNER Tuesday April 29th (6:00 PM)
"Join us for an epic pairing of beer and food. Sweet dishes will be paired with sour beers and sour dishes will be paired with sweet beers. Plus, patrons will hear from one of the masters of American sours, David Brendgard, the new lead brewer for Flathead Lake Brewing Company, who spearheaded the sour beer and cellaring program for Deschutes Brewery in Oregon.

Calling all craft beer fans and homebrewers! We have an exclusive class offering during Missoula Craft Beer Week in which you can make a medieval-style, leather-bound beer book. You can choose either a beer journal insert suitable for tracking all the beers you taste and breweries you visit, or for the homebrewers, choose the detailed insert for keeping notes of every batch of brew you make.
Audra from Missoula's The Vespiary is hosting this limited class at Bayern Brewery on Wednesday April 30, 2014 from 5-8 p.m.
"We will be using the Leather Longstitch method," says instructor, Audra, "an ancient, multi-signature book structure that lays flat when opened and makes for an awesome journal. Pages are sewn directly into the leather and make a decorative pattern on the spine."
Materials will be provided. No previous bookbinding experience necessary.
Class space is very limited, and we are working on a few extra "perks" for attendees. Tickets are available for $50 through Eventzilla or on-site at The Vespiary - cash, checks and credit card accepted.
